Ingredients
400g beef mince
1 brown onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce (optional)
¼ cup parsley leaves, chopped
1 egg, lightly whisked
sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 bread rolls, halved
4 slices cheddar cheese
2 tomatoes, thickly sliced
4 fancy lettuce leaves
500g ready to roast frozen potato wedges
Tomato chutney or sauce
Method
Place the beef mince, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, parsley and egg in large bowl
Season with salt and pepper and mix with your hands until evenly combined
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into a patty to fit the size of the bread rolls
At this point the patties can be frozen, if desired
Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium-low heat and cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side or until browned and cooked through
Place the bread rolls, cut-side up, under a hot grill and toast for 1 minute or until golden
Place the patties onto the bottom halves of the toasted rolls with the cheese slices
and place under the grill for 1 minute or until the cheese is just melted
Top with the toasted bread roll tops with some tomato chutney or sauce, add sliced tomato and lettuce and serve with oven roasted wedges and extra tomato chutney or sauce
